Excellent. With the additions of Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto this album is very refreshing. Parts of it do sound like Red which is not a bad thing and yet sounds that of the day, the mid 90's and the combination of the band's early/mid 80' period. The Double Trio works well. I do find it a little long winded. Maybe more vocals would of lessened the "time" of the album.

Have to play it again before casting my vote Joe, but many fans new and old like Thrak.

I gave it a 7.
The instrumentation and the way they perfectly are all in sync with complex interesting new ideas are what make this album a gem. However, Belew's lyrics and vocals along with a little too much bizarre time changes keep this album from getting anything higher than a 7. The live performances of this album were quite amazing.

I like Belew's vocals and lyrics. They're almost over the edge, but not quite. I would take Vroom Vroom over this album. The band on that album is absolutely tight for live recordings. Superb.
