2021 The Rolling Stones, including their former bassist Bill Wyman, got together at the tiny London club Ronnie Scott's to honor their late drummer Charlie Watts with a special tribute show. The event, hosted by Charlie's granddaughter Charlotte and others members of the Watts family, was limited to about two hundred people and attendees were strongly discouraged from taking photos or video.

1968: The Rolling Stones’ seventh British and ninth American album, Beggars Banquet, was released. The LP marked a return to a blues rock style following the psychedelic pop of their previous two albums, Between the Buttons and Their Satanic Majesties Request, and the album is among the most instrumentally experimental of the band’s career, incorporating Latin beats, South Asian sounds, and African-influenced conga rhythms.

1970: Former Chicken Shack keyboardist and singer Christine McVie released her debut, self-titled solo album under her maiden name, Christine Perfect. Shortly after, McVie joined her husband John as a member of Fleetwood Mac, who had just lost guitarist and founder Peter Green. The band’s members were nervous about touring without Green, but McVie had been a huge fan of the group and was very familiar with their music.

2016 Greg Lake, who fronted both King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, died aged 69 after a battle with cancer. One of the founding fathers of progressive rock, the band combined heavy rock riffs with a classical influence. They scored hit albums with Pictures at an Exhibition, Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery and Lake had his solo hit 'I Believe in Father Christmas'. Jimi Hendrix considered joining ELP in their earliest incarnation, and if this had happened, the band would've been known as HELP.

2015 David Bowie made his last public appearance when he attended the opening night of the Lazarus production at the New York Theatre Workshop in Manhattan. Tickets to the entire run of the musical sold out within hours of being made available. The musical is inspired by Walter Tevis's novel "The Man Who Fell to Earth", and Bowie previously starred in the 1976 film adaptation of the same name, directed by Nicolas Roeg. As of September 2018 there have been five productions: one each in New York, London, Bremen, Dusseldorf, and Vienna, and six further productions are planned for Leipzig, Hamburg, Linz, Amsterdam, Bielefeld and Gottingen. All of the productions have been box-office successes.
