Theocracy (Official Thread)

Theocracy. One band that I have been listening to for quite sometime now. They have such a good vibe and they just have a very upbeat sound to them that makes me feel great and pumped. Though that's just me personally. They can be a hit and miss band depending on the kind of vocals you like to hear in a progressive metal band. But honestly, if it's just the vocals, just read the lyrics and you'll feel "deeper" with the band. It's become one of my top 5 bands for progressive metal in general.

From what I have heard so far, they have bit of a power metal sound to them.

I can agree. It could be the vocals that are doing that, it can also be the quick riffs. Either way, I think they're pretty good.

I was listening to one of their songs that LG posted and it sounded pretty good, so I will have to listen to them some more!
Can't say they are quite tickling my fancy at the moment =\

Yeah, I hope their future releases have the sound from that album to it. I enjoyed it as well.

Huge fan of Theocracy. I have both cd's. I hate to burst anyone's bubble but they are unabashedly christian. But dont let that scare you, they are incredible musicians (Matt Smith is the brainchild of this band) and they are definitely american power metal with a dash of european flavor.

^I actually don't find that they really express any religion in their music intentionally. If I were listening to this band with no prior knowledge, I probably would have been surprised to see that they are considered a Christian Prog band. They are incredible songwriters, and very good performers from what i've seen on Youtube.
