Let's talk about another Southern rock band, formed in 1972 in Tampa Florida "The Outlaws'. While never achieving the heights of Skynyrd or the Allman brothers band, The Outlaws combined a hard driving southern rock sound with vocal harmonies worthy of the Eagles, the result was a winning combination that gave them their own unique sound. I never really got into this band until I bought "In The Eye Of The Storm" in 1979, and I only picked it up because of the hit song "Ghost Riders in the Sky", the guitar on that song just grabbed me. But over the last couple of years I have picked up three of their albums and I firmly believe this band should have been a bigger success. They went through numerous line-up changes over the years, Hughie Thomasson was the only original member who remained in the band for the duration.
Here's the song that got me interested, Ghost Riders in the Sky.(This vid is from the movie that came out a few years ago with Nicholas Cage.)
