The band's name, Slough Feg, or more formally, The Lord Weird Slough Feg, is taken from the main villain in a British comic book series title Slaine which setting was in places named in Celtic Myth. Those myths, as recounted in the historical tome known as the Ta'in Bo Cuailgne (thawn bo quel'gny), provide the fodder for many of Mike's lyrical topics, although subjects such as mental evolution, moral mastery, and your basic misery and madness also tend to crop up, even when not related to mythology.

1996 The Lord Weird Slough Feg
1999 Twilight of the Idols
2000 Down Among the Deadmen
2003 Traveller
2005 Atavism
2007 Hardworlder
2009 Ape Uprising!
2010 The Animal Spirits

The Lord Weird Slough Feg are a band that is frequently compared to Manilla Road .More for their epic, unique style of heavy metal ( something they share w/ MR ) then for actually sounding like them. They are both very much their own animal but they do travel along similar paths. I have all of their CDs and being as they are one of my favorites ( and not that well known ) I will be showcasing their discography here in this thread starting with the S/T debut.

I have just listened to a few samples as I have never come across them before and I like what I hear. Gonna sniff around a bit for sure. Nice one.

 Haven't heard this album. Have Traveller on CD. Haven't listened to it for a long time. I think I'll change that today.

Glad to see that you ( Joe ), Sox, Noodlez and LG are liking these guys. A really great band. The best is yet to come ,Joe. I personally like Down Among The Dead Men, as far as favorites go.

Haven't heard any other albums from the band. A buddy of mine is a big fan and recommended me Traveller about five years ago. Good stuff.
