*I hope there isn't already a TGW thread...*
The Guess Who was a great band imo, one that is often overlooked (save their timeless classic "American Woman"). They formed in the mid-1960's, and reached their peak between 1968 and 1970. So here is a thread dedicated to Cummings, Bachman, Kale, and Peterson!

Re: The Guess Who

He posted my favorite song Fox, "Undun" so it all good with me.

I'll check PF to see if there is one but I don't think so.

Your thread is fine PF, and thanks saves me from writing it.

Re: The Guess Who

About 6 weeks ago our band opened for The Guess Who in Ft. Worth. Actually the only original member left was Jim Kale - Dale Peterson was in all the promo materials but didn't play the show ( don'r know why). It was basically a really good tribute band, but they played basically the "Best Of The Guess Who" plus Shakin' All Over, Clap For The Wolfman and Star Baby. The best songs of the night were the last two - These Eyes and No Time. No Burton Cummings and no Randy Bachman so you can decide for yourself about the "authenticity" but they put on a good show ( and got paid pretty well too!)

I love that song and only recently discovered that it was a cover ... first done by Johnny Kidd & the Pirates.

Two more notable, if not excellent, songs of theirs: "Hand Me Down World" and "Laughing".

"Jim Morrison is a drunken buffoon posing as a poet. Give me the Guess Who. They have the courage to be drunken buffoons, which makes them poetic."
