Television was formed in New York City in 1973 by Tom Verlaine and Richard Hell. In my opinion, Verlaine is one of the most interesting guitarists in rock music.

Studio albums:
Marquee Moon (1977)
Adventure (1978)
Television (1992)

Live albums:
The Blow-Up (1982)
Live at the Academy, 1992 (2003)
Live at the Old Waldorf (2003)

I agree and really like the first two albums. Adventure was a bit of
a departure from Marquee Moon, but in some ways I thought it
was a better album... time has been good to Adventure, as it
holds up quiet well. Verlaine released a few good solo lps that
were good also.

I got to see Richard Lloyd, second guitarist for Television, and his
band open up for the Golden Palaminos at the Ritz in 1987. What
an underrated guitarist he was! What a strange night that was too,
place was loaded with VIP record company execs and producers,
reserved tables all over the place.

Marquee Moon turns 40 February 2017.

Mark Weingarten of Entertainment Weekly calling it the masterpiece of the 1970s New York punk rock scene.

I've liked Television. Marquee Moon is a very good album. I really like the guitars of Tom Verlaine & Richard Lloyd. I also like original bass player Richard Hell's album Richard Hell & the Voidoids with Marky Bell (Ramone) on drums & Robert Quine on guitar
