Re: Static X

What a fantastic band! Some excellent choices, there. What was the last one? Link appears to be broken according to my itouch. Must admit I expected The Only, Cold, or even Skinnyman to make the list. Overplayed or not, those three are right up there with Pushit or Destroyer in my book.

Re: Static X

Good ole Static-X! I always digged Wayne Static's crazy look and unique take on screaming. I really like their first couple albums, but from then on it's hit or miss with the songs; Either I really like them, or they are just ok.

First song I heard from them, I'm With Stupid

A couple others I really enjoy:

Ostegolectric from the album Shadow Zone

Great live version of the opening track to Machine, Get to the Gone

This song always gets me pumped up! Down

Re: Static X

I hope Static X will put out a new album. I enjoyed Cult of Static a lot. Have not listened to the band in ages but whenever I do its like a surge of energy hits you. Great heavy metal.

Wayne Static Confirms That Static-X Are Done

Static-X are no more, or so says frontman and guitarist Wayne Static. The singer has been at odds with ex-bassist Tony Campos over the rights to tour and record using the band's name, as Campos owns 50 percent of the name. The duo had an arrangement that eventually fell apart, and Static has revealed just how bad things have gotten between himself and his former bandmate.

The frontman further elaborated stating that he wasn't dissing any of the other guys in the band and that onstage they had great chemistry. But offstage they went their separate ways and that is not something that is uncommon in the music industry. He concludes, "The last e-mail Tony sent me, he said he hopes we never have to talk again. And I said, 'Believe me, this is the last you'll ever hear from me.' And that's the way we left. And it sucks. I think it's sad that things have to end that way. And it happens to a lot of bands ... Static-X is done. The end. No more Static-X."

Well that sucks then. I love most of their work and Cult of Static was a good album to go out on. Hoping one day he may reform the band.
