Growing up during the 60's, there were 3 things from the entertainment fields that were my favorites:

    The Beatles
    Marvel Comics
    James Bond

R.I.P. Stan, for what you provided.

I saw this a couple of hours ago and immediately the tears started to roll down my face. I've said it for years that when the great Stan Lee passes, I knew it would hit me in my heart, soul and tear ducts.

I grew up on the comics and characters that he created and wrote. I collected comic books from the 70's to the late 00's. I've always been a much bigger fan of Marvel than DC and a lot of it was because of him. His creations have been a major backdrop in the story of my life.

There is a GREAT docu/bio of him on Netflix that I have seen a few times, if you get the chance, check it out. The joy and passion that this man had over the comics he was a part of is amazing to watch and listen to as he talks about it throughout the film. Then, you get to see the way that he doted over his wife, Joan. It wasn't a Hollywood marriage where you see pretentious people pretending to really "be into" each other. The way that man talked about his wife, you KNEW he loved her. It made me a bit envious. We should all be so lucky to find someone that means that much to us.

I could say so much about how much I adore this man, but I'll just leave it at this (at least for now).

So long Stan, thanks for the memories!

If anyone wants a 'short' list of the characters (and entities) that Stan was involved in creating, check this link. This is not 100% all-inclusive, but it does hit the highlights of the famous and many of the not-so-famous characters that Stan brought to us.

It's difficult to really express how important Stan Lee was to my childhood, but you guys summed it up well, so I'll just add that at least I take comfort in him having had a long life and I think he thoroughly enjoyed seeing his comic book characters come to life in live action movies. R.I.P. Stan. Thank you for the memories.
