It's a fine list...I like that each artist only gets one spot on the list.

Personally, I favor Jumpin' Jack Flash over Satisfaction, but I like seeing the Stones at the top. The inclusions of I Wanna Be Your Dog, Rebel Rebel, Johnny B. Goode, House of the Rising Sun, and Seven Nation Army also made me happy.

I agree with most on the list. Having said that, here are my gripes. The Beatles had more than one good riff. How about "I Feel Fine", "Birthday" or "You Can't Do That" for a start. "Pleasant Valley Sunday" by the Monkees has a pretty good riff (although it was "inspired" by the Beatles' "I Want to Tell You"). What, no KISS? And frankly, any best-of riff list without "School's Out" by Alice Cooper is highly suspect.

Not a bad list.

Led Zeppelin - I would have replaced Heartbreaker with either Communication Breakdown, Good Times Bad Times, Over the Hills and Far Away or Trampled Under Foot.

Motorhead - I would have replaced Ace of Spades with Iron Fist

Rolling Stones - I would have replaced Can't Get No Satisfaction with The Last Time.

... and where the hell is Alex Lifeson?! :wtf:

I enjoy the inclusion of "20th Century Boy", "Cinnamon Girl", and others but to me "Iron Man" is the riff to end all riffs.

(I've seen this list before by the way)

Why would they put Heartbreaker on there instead of Whole Lotta Love? :bonk:

And I love the Jessica appreciation. I just frickin' love that song in general.

I would have, without repeating bands:

Baby, Please Don't Go by Budgie (Never Turn Your Back)
Little Bit Sympathy by Robin Trower (Bridge of Sighs)
Knife Edge by ELP (ELP) - not on guitar, but it's a great riff)
Crossroad Blues by Eric Clapton and Cream (forgotten the album title)
Sympton of the Universe by Black Sabbath (Sabotage)
Knockin' at Your Back Door by Deep Purple (Perfect Strangers)
Why Donchta by West, Bruce and Laing
Nantucket Sleighride to Owen Coffin by Mountain - I'm cheating, it's Leslie West again
21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson (ITCOTCK ) - rivals School's Out for the best ever riff
Suicide by Stray (Suicide)
Many Are Called But Few Get Up by Man (Do You Like it Here Now) - contains loads of guitar riffs, every one a gem

I also agree with Birthday and School's Out. The latter has to be the best riff of all time and Spider Woman by Uriah Heep sounds like a copy to me.
