McCartney has Simon bested in pretty much every single music-related category. Since the poll is simply based on abilities as a "songwriter", my vote doesn't sway at all. McCartney easily gets my vote.

Obviously a lady who doesn't own any stones.

I think Paul Simon is a deeper songwriter than Paul is. Paul has a wider range of styles that he's dabbled in over the years that's for sure but that's not what I'm referring to in terms of depth. What it comes down to for me is that Macca's silly love songs are fine and dandy but I like the substance and in some cases the grittiness in Paul Simon's song's subject matter more.
