    Hello all,

I hope this is okay to post. I recently wrote a web article listing 80 songs that have "bird" in the title. Twenty of the songs have info and trivia about them, along with a video or audio each. Some of the titles include Blackbird by The Beatles, Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Songbird by Oasis, Bird Dog by The Everly Brothers, Surfin' Bird by The Trashmen, and a lot more. What would be your favorite song or songs with "bird" in the title? Being a Beatles fan, I'd have to go with And Your Bird Can Sing and Blackbird.

    Thanks,
    Marshall

    Nora,

I hadn't seen that video until I wrote my article. The concert, in which this was filmed, was held on July 2, 1977 at the Oakland Coliseum stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was one of promoter Bill Graham's Day on the Green shows. The headliner was Peter Frampton, a year after releasing his big hit live album, Frampton Comes Alive, and he was promoting his then new album, I'm In You.

An excellent choice, too, Nora. When I was a child, my family had the American Beatles album (Yesterday and Today) that featured AYBCS before it was released on the UK Revolver album. AYBCS was also used in the intro for the third season of the American Beatles cartoon show.

The Bird Has Flown by Deep Purple and appeared on the third Deep Purple Mk.1 album released in 1969 (Not by the 'classic' Mk.2 line up).

    E-Z,

Rod Evans sounds pretty good on this song. Pretty good tune, too.
