Hard not to give the Young brothers credit for AC/DC considering they are the founding members. lol You don't have AC/DC without either of them.
The same goes for the DeLeo brothers though, perhaps with even more greatness & equal importance to their style. Stone Temple Pilots IS the DeLeo brothers & AC/DC has mainly Angus, not Malcolm, as their key performer. The DeLeo brothers share more of an important role in their band(s) together with their Bass/(Lead)Guitar factor rather than what the Youngs put together with their Rhythm/Lead Guitar combo. Angus is the man while Malcolm is the "filler" there. The DeLeos clearly win over the AC/DC combo.

Speaking of founding members &/or important combos, what about these examples as they all fit into that mold?

1. Heart. (Wilsons)

2. Kiss. (Gene & Paul)

3. Metallica. (James & Lars)

4. Van Halen(s).

5. Alice In Chains. (Jerry & Layne)

6. Eagles. (Don Henley)

7. Megadeth. (Dave & David)

8. INXS. (Michael Hutchence)

9. Beatles. (John & Paul)

10. Black Sabbath. (Tony Iommi)

Big part(s) of each band without a doubt.:cheers2

I don't consider Malcolm a 'filler' member at all. You don't have AC/DC without him or Angus. People really under rate Malcolm if anything as a key member of the band. Yes Angus is the lead and he tends to get the most attention when he performs but that does not make Malcolm any lesser of a contributor. Considering they both co-write the music I'd say they both actually deserve as much praise as each other as they both are why AC/DC is the band it is today for the most part.

Took the Van Zant family, with Carpenters getting an honorable mention.
