I've really enjoyed the last few books I've read lately and recommend all three if they want an entertaining, insightful read:
- We All Shine On - Elliot Mintz,
- Brothers - Alex Van Halen
- Last Chance Texaco - Rickie Lee Jones

I recommend 'Eminent Hipsters' by Donald Fagen , 'Life' by Keith Richards, 'Long Time Gone' by David Crosby......more than just stories......but there are many but a lot of them are just tales of being bad boys and girls with not much else. And many of them never interested me on a musical level.

Gotta read this. Years ago I was in the managers office at the Whiskey Go Go before Slash was set to play and Duff dropped by. He came by to say hi to everyone. Seemed like the coolest guy and very approachable.
Oh wow!!

I was a big GnR fan back in the day, so a lot of it was interesting, but I thought his personal journey was just as interesting. I watched a bunch of interviews he did for the book on youtube and yes, he seems like a really cool and grounded guy.

One thing that I particularly like about the book is that it reads with his voice. I know they all have co-writers but there was an authenticity to the narrative. Like they were truly his words.

Contrast that with Ace Frehley's book, and those are definitely NOT Ace's words. lol
