I was somewhat surprised to not see a topic for Ray Charles, as he was a very influential artist in the 50's and 60's. Ray Charles was known for making many types of music, such as soul and rock and roll. Two big hits for him were "I Got A Woman" and "What'd I Say".

Definitely one of the all time greats, I respect Ray but am not a huge fan of his but my Mom had 20 of his albums she really loved his music. I always wonder how much better he might have been if he never got into drugs for so many years in his prime.
