    Yup. It's coming.
I actually liked the last Rambo flick. Boatman!
And I didn't like any of the old ones after First Blood.

That said. It's a big troubling that he's a cowboy in the first looks. (What's next? Battling aliens?)
But the end of Rambo 4 was him finally going back home looking like he did in First Blood.
(Complete with crappy sentimental music like so many Stalone movies)
And supposedly in this one he takes on the Mexican Drug cartel.
Which all sounds like perfect ground for total gratuitous violence and stupid dialog.
Which of course is the best thing about any action flick.
Yeah I'm looking forward to it.

The last one was good and I've actually enjoyed all of them, although none of them are as good as the first one. Rambo against a Mexican drug cartel just cannot go wrong. Oh and for sure, he'll drop that cowboy look max one-third into the movie! :woot:

    I'm not sure.
    They might go full cowboy.
    Embrace the dumb.
Sort of a modern bad ass western pic.

I tried to like the Rambo franchise.
    First Blood was genuinely decent.
Rambo 1 I could hold my nose and dig it a bit.
The newest one was awesome. Totally dug it.

One of the others almost stunk enough to be good but it clearly was taking it's self seriously.
I went over to the Hot Shots franchise after that.

Lets face it. This is what we are all hoping for from a new Rambo.

Rambo 1: Fantastic movie though I wasn't fond of the dog killing
Rambo 2: In your face Vietcong-massacre, loved it, still loving it. This movie made the Rambo myth.
Rambo 3: Horrible timing and aged poorly. The Soviets spent some 8 years in Afghanistan and the movie manages to get released weeks after the Soviets finally withdraw from Afghanistan??? Once it hit the movie theatres, there was no purpose left for Rambo. Then there's this whole idealizing of the Taliban which in hindsight was not the greatest idea.
Rambo 4: I seriously can't remember anything from that movie except splatter. Zero emotional attachment, zero memorable lines or scenes, just splatter.

I guess Rambo 5 will be somewhat like Rocky 6 and Creed: a critically well-received movie that is nowhere as bad as Rambo 4 / Rocky 5 nor as memorable as its predecessors.

The gritty route of the last one was a nice breath of air for the franchise.

One can hope they had a good team working on this one.

I loved Rambo 4, the "splatter" was right up my alley. Want to see the new one when it comes to DVD, but honestly I will be happy if it just doesn't suck. that is pretty much all I hope for anymore, just don't completely blow chunks.

Last Blood is bleak and brutal as f*ck, so if that's your thing, you'll love it. It's been getting some negative reviews, but I loved it.

    I'm sure I'll love it.
I think those that criticize don't get it.
There is a place for stupid senseless violence and triple decker half pound burgers with bacon and stacks of Marshall amps.
It's why they hate our freedom.
A celebration of toxic masculinity at it's finest.
And I ask with all seriousness. Where is this generations Rambo?
    Tragic.
