Recorded April 3, 1998 – April 21, 1998

Genre hard rock, stoner rock, alternative rock

This is QOTSA's first album and I must say it is their best album in their catolog along with Songs For The Deaf . This is also a unique album since you hear Homme’s past and future intertwining.
You hear the spacey sound of Kyuss as well as the brawn and agression of later QOTSA.
I find the album to be flawless.

Re: Queens Of The Stone Age Self Titled

Great stuff  I've just ordered the remastered edition with extra tracks that was released earlier this year.

Original release track listing:

1. Regular John
2. Avon
3. If Only
4. Walkin' on the Sidewalks
5. You Would Know
6. How to Handle a Rope (A Lesson in the Lariat)
7. Mexicola
8. Hispanic Impressions
9. You Can't Quit Me Baby
10. Give the Mule What He Wants
11. I Was a Teenage Hand Model

2011 re-release:

1. Regular John
2. Avon
3. If Only
4. Walkin' On The Sidewalks
5. You Would Know
6. The Bronze
7. How To Handle A Rope
8. Mexicola
9. Hispanic Impressions
10. You Can't Quit Me Baby
11. These Aren't The Droids You're Looking For
12. Give The Mule What He Wants
13. Spiders And Vinegaroons
14. I Was A Teenage Hand Model

Interesting how they've sandwiched the extra tracks between the original ones instead of just adding them on the end.

QOTSA. Incredible band. I was talking about them with a friend of mine yesterday, and I believe this album came into the discussion. I need to pick up a copy, all I have is a downloaded version. Awesome review though.

I don't have any Kyuss or QOTSA in the house...:peek

I keep forgetting about them for some reason.

Very nice review Mud, I can see you love this album so if I do get around to checking them out I'll start here.:grinthumb

Tray is a big fan of their's as well, but it's a matter of time Whaler...there is literally never enough to get to everything anymore.

This is one of my all-time favorite albums.

My favorite Queens of the Stone Age album to date!

This album blew my mind first time I heard it, and it still does to this day.

Favorite songs off the album:
You Can't Quit Me Baby
If Only
Walkin On the Sidewalks
Mexicola
The Bronze
How to Handle a Rope

but all the songs on the album are great, just like any other QOTSA album (for the most part haha)
