A new charismatic, late 60s/early 70s retro rock band I've been getting into recently are Purson. Hailing from London and active since 2011, their sound is a heady concoction of psychedelic, folk and prog rock. Vocalist, Rosie Cunningham, lists The Beatles, T-Rex, Bowie, Slade, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Faces amongst her influences, and Purson's debut album 'The Circle and the Blue Door' is quite a diverse affair, ranging from dreamy numbers to darker and heavier tracks. Anyway enough of my yapping, give these guys a listen, if Ms Cunningham's enchanting voice and the equally bewitching lyrics don't draw you in I don't know what will :)

Paul's nephew put me onto these guys, so glad he did! I'll have to nudge Sweat in this direction if he doesn't visit the thread :D

I like what I've heard so far, shouldn't mind catching 'em live.

Been into this band for some time just off live clips alone before their debut release was even made up, Rosalie Cunningham's a superb vocalist.

Their debut 'The Circle and The Blue Door's definitely one of best albums to come out in the last decade.
