Progressive Rock or Southern Rock

I like some southern rock, but I like prog rock more.

Prog rock. Love the allman brothers band but after them I only like a few other songs by southern rock bands. I could listen 50 to 100 great prog bands. Prog has it all emotion, passion, interesting stories, non-traditional instruments and no silly love songs.

Prog rock is totally universal, anyone in any country and using many different styles can play it, there's been prog rock bands from every continent covering a wide variety of tastes around for 50 years. Southern rock is - by definition - one basic style of music, and concentrated mostly into maybe 9 of 10 states inside just one country, so whilst I like some of it (especially Skynyrd and Little Feat, two of my all time favourite bands) for me there's no comparison.

They're both great but Prog rock wins it for me!

Me, I'm not so much into Prog, but Southern Rock is a staple of my musical diet.

Prog by far. Yes, Rush, Queensryche, etc.... are superior bands.

Some Prog is good, I like almost all "Hard Rockin'" Southern Rock!!!
