Trower played in a very different style for most of his time in PH - it's nice that he had so much talent to sort of 're-invent" himself by the time he left in a more Hendrix-vein; The Devil Came From Kansas has a fluid, psychotic solo that packs a real wallop (from A Salty Dog.)

A Whiter Shade of Pale will be forever associated with the 1967 'summer of love' in the UK by a diminishing band of people.

The albums A Salty Dog & Home are OK although Procol's symphonic rock or Art rock isn't my favourite form of rock music.

The Procol Harum album that I do like is Broken Barricades mainly because it's Robin's last album with the band before going solo and it has a number of good rock songs on it although apparently it wasn't as good a seller back in 1971 as the previous albums had been back in the late 1960s.
