Another song I love, that will probably end up with me posting a bunch of threads....lol

Its a song called 'WIngs of Icaros' by Dreamtale. That dude has pipes!

Dreamtale is a Finnish (I'm posting about them, of course their Finnish) Power Metal band, that was home to an amazing singer Jarkko Ahola (who sings in this song). He now sings in Teräsbetoni (which I will be doing a thread on soon), and he is one of the 4 finnish singers in Northern Kings (other's being Marco of nightwish, Tony of Sonata Arctica, and the dude from Charon).

Enjoy! And have your mind blown!

You can't post about powermetal without Blind Guardian or Iced Earth in it.
I should also mention Demons and Wizards (co-op between BG en IE) and obviously also Sonata Arctica.

Awesome

Awesome

Circle II Circle: They have been in my collection for ages it seems, they are a set value, and I'll never skip one of their songs.. But will you like their music? Hell, I wouldn't put a penny to that bet..

I love everything Savatage,TSO,Jon Oliva's Pain,Caffrery,Circle II Circle ect. It's like a friend told me once. Savatge...they are more than a band they're a law firm. :heheh:
Dragonforce: You'll like them.

I DO..and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Elvenking. This you might not like. Depends on the album you download: some are folk, some alternative, some power, some speed...

I dig these guys. If the singer's voice ever gave you Deja Vu...think Dexy's Midnight Runners...:grinthumb

Narnia: lol try to find this band on the net, I dare you... Ill chosen name I guess...

I have this. It's really good.

Awesome

Always looked at them as more NWOBHM but there is enough power there. The last three show that.

Stratovarius

Awesome

Symphony X:

If anyone only buys one?

Savatage: there is a thread about them... They're special.

See my Circle II circle comment :heheh:

Therion

Thurisaz

Two cool bands...TURISAS??

I have another one I'm posting later Taha that I hope you like, but you are right there are many bands from Europe that are excellent, they have kept the old metal alive, well it sure sounds that way to me when I play them, just Heavy Metal with a double pedal bass drum and fast tempo.

Here's a song by a band that I admire, but don't know a lot about.

At Vance is primarily based around the skills of guitarist Olaf Lenk, who evidently is pretty big in Japan. Anywho, I love this song, and a lot of their other music is very classically inspired, so you might give it a listen.

This is a pretty cool song, its has kind of an inspirational feel to it. It's by Teräsbetoni, who's singer Jukka, has one of my favorite voices. Anyway, here it is (It's in Finnish....yeah)

This is a very rough translation.

So
to us it was believed
because of power
fought with us
So
you were confident
jointly
rejection of aggression
so were all fake
believe in a strong music
and the instinct of a warrior!

Swords
on they are ready to re -
Along
troops crushed nor
And how juhlimmekaan
common journey again
And none of us can no longer prevent
Can not!

We will never give up!
(We call for metal)
We will not bow down to anybody!
(We call for metal)
We are not doing,
what other commands,
we call metal!

Knights
hey are ready valjastakaa
Victorious grin revealing guarantee
And how huudammekaan
victory sign again
And none of us can no longer prevent
Can not!

We will never give up!
(We call for metal)
We will not bow down to anybody!
(We call for metal)
We are not doing,
what other commands,
we call metal!

We call for metal!
We call for metal!

We will never give up!
(We call for metal)
We will not bow down to anybody!
(We call for metal)
We are not doing,
what other commands,
we thirst for metal!

cream of metal!

We call for metal!
