I got the brand new Beth Hart CD You Still Got Me.

I got a used copy of the debut Gamma Ray album Heading For Tomorrow. The weird thing about this one is that the hype sticker on the CD doesn't use the band name but rather the name of band founder/guitarist Kai Hansen.

I also got a used copy of the Y&T album Down for the Count that will eventually become a Cassette Chronicles article.

I stopped by my friend's record shop today. I had to pick up three albums that I'd ordered from him but I ended up picking up some other stuff as well because he'd gotten some new collections in the last week or so.

The three new CDs:

Accept - Humanoid
Hammerfall - Avenge the Fallen
Ian Hunter - Defiance Part 2: Fiction

Then I grabbed a couple of Culture Club CDs out of the $2 bin: Colour by Numbers and Waking Up with the House on Fire.

From the regular racks I picked up the following:

Ratt - Reach for the Sky
Testament: Brotherhood of the Snake
Great White - S/T
W.A.S.P. - S/T (1998 reissue)
Helloween - Live in Sao Paulo
Leatherwolf - Endangered Species

Love these bands!

I am a bigger fan of Accept and have almost all of their studio releases. I was delayed in picking this new one up.

Before this year, I only had the Legacy of Kings album from Hammerfall. But after seeing them open for Helloween, I am definitely a bigger fan than before and have to start getting more of their material.

Legacy Of Kings is one of my all time favorite albums. I was also at the Helloween show, and seeing Hammerfall was a kind of bucket list band to finally get to see. Other than the piped in backing vocals, I thought they were great. Joacim Cans is one of my favorite vocalists. Those first six Hammerfall albums, before they started with lineup changes, are outstanding.

Humanoid is ok. With Peter Baltes gone, it's really just Wolf left, so I don't know if it has that "Accept magic", but it is a nice solid album that really picks up halfway through.

'Learning To Flinch'(1993 live acoustic), and 'The Wind'(2003)...his last lp before he died later that year....by Warren Zevon on cd.
