Recently viewing Beach Boys docs as infinitum over on YouTube and am becoming increasingly curious concerning the band's works in the Four year wake after the abandonment of the Smile project in its entirety.Bits and pieces began to surface in Wild Honey and 20/20 and I'm quite intrigued with what the boys did between here and 1971's Sunflower offering. Some say this last title may have been just as well executed as Pet Sounds on some levels. Is anyone here a fan of this era of Beach Boys music?

Later Beach Boys material is different, sure, but there’s plenty of good music to be found. Surf’s up is a truly great album with wonderful melodies. While Brian Wilson was still their main writer, other members of the band started contributing more. Holland and the early 70s live album are excellent. I love their 2012 studio album That’s why God made the radio - probably their final studio album.
