Re: Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols

I saw them on the re-union tour in 1996 - or rather, I saw the first song they almost finished, Pretty Vacant I think it was. They were bottled off the stage at a festival where bands are never bottled off.... Rotten warned the crowd: ONE more bottle *swoosh!* and they were off :heheh:

I like the album though but the reunion was a horrible money grubbing concept. Imo, the Pistols were ok but also a bit of a punk boy band. They were much better musicians than they'd ever let on - except Sid :heheh: But the rest of the band were great and Sid was only included for the image. Too much marketing to make it 'real' punk - but they had a huge impact for sure. And I enjoy listening to the album for what it is.

I have been listening to this album non-stop the last couple of days. Steve Jones is a really tight guitar player. Very overlooked IMO.

The more I listen to this album the more I really have more and more respect for it.

The only other album that had an impact like this was Nirvana's Nevermind.

Anarchy in the UK, God Save the Queen, just an amazingly made album.
John Lydon was a genius.
