I saw a concert thread for the brief reunion concert, but not a proper Pink Floyd thread.

Probably the most unique band in my collection, I love this band. I know there is a difference of opinion about Syd Barrett's early contributions being integral to the growth and sound of PF, but for my money from Meddle on was the best material they recorded.

Discography:

1967 The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
1968 A Saucerful of Secrets
1969 Soundtrack from the Film More
1969 Ummagumma (live + studio)
1970 Atom Heart Mother
1971 Meddle
1972 Obscured by Clouds
1973 The Dark Side of the Moon
1975 Wish You Were Here
1977 Animals
1979 The Wall
1983 The Final Cut
1987 A Momentary Lapse of Reason
1994 The Division Bell
2014 The Endless Summer

Here is one of the most recognizable album covers in history and an all time classic, Dark Side of the Moon.

Re: Pink Floyd

I have to agree, LG, DSOTM was their best known album, but an honorable mention should go to "The Wall" as well.

Re: Pink Floyd

An old friend of mine always tries to convince me that The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is their best album, and I always argue for DSOTM, to this day we still discuss it.:D

I like The Wall with all it's excesses, but I have to be in a particular mood to play it. Roger was surely using this album to exorcise some ghosts from his own experiences.

Re: Pink Floyd

All my guitar students these days are getting the pleasure of learning Wish You Were Here...and I myself are really close to mastering the solo from ABITW pt.2

Re: Pink Floyd

Sigh all I can do is open a bottle of beer and play Pink Floyd.

That is the one thing I would change in my past, learn piano or guitar.

HERE. WHERE ELSE?
Re: Pink Floyd

Floyd will always be the beginning & the end of a night for me. Without a doupt Animals is by far the best. Have seen Waters twice now & he is never anything other than brilliant.
Have yet to see Gilmour though. Still high on my wish list.
