Penny Lane vs Strawberry Fields Forever

So as I understand it, both these great songs should have been on Sergeant Pepper, but Brian Epstien wanted to put out a single, so these got left off Pepper (huge Mistake IMO) Sgt. Pepper would indeed have been a masterpiece if these were included.

These songs are sort of companion songs. John writing about a childhood place, Strawberry Fields...Then McCartney, in response, doing likewise with Penny Lane as part of the competition between the two.
