There is a fine line between improving something using better software/technology and what Ozzy did with his remasters. When done properly a new remaster is better, but when done poorly the original always has a better balanced sound, most people can tell the difference right away.

I have to agree with you about the royalties owed. Ozzy was messed up then and I don't know why he would ruin such a good thing he had going with his new band.

Sharon wasn't the driving force, but she was the spokes person, and tried to smooth things over with fans and the press...making it out to be a 'win/win' situation...which was BS. The case got thrown out of the Supreme Court, so making the reissue was a total waste....it was nothing more than Ozzy being a prick.

Personally, I'd say “Mr. Crowley” is by far the darkest song on the album. Aleister Crowley was one dark twisted man.

I'm not going to comment on the politics and the antics involved with the legal issues and the remastering, its a bit too much for me to discuss right now, my brain is not functioning properly tonight:D

but great review again Magic, and Brilliant album... Not a bad or even OK track on it, they are all great, I really don't listen to this one as much as I would like to....and even worse I don't own it in any form:wtf:
I can't pick a favorite from this one... it is solid all the way through:grinthumb

Yes he was a very disturbing person. But I think Ozzy was not praising him in the song, but questioning him.....

Mr. Crowley, what went wrong in your head?
Oh, Mr. Crowley, did you talk with the dead?
Your life style to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic
    You waited on Satan's call
Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure
    Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport
Uncovering things that were sacred manifest on this Earth
Conceived in the eye of a secret
    And they scattered the afterbirth
    (Solo)
Mr. Crowley, won't you ride my white horse
Oh, Mr. Crowley, it's symbolic of course
Approaching a time that is classic
    I hear maidens call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall
    Was it polemically sent
I wanna know what you meant
    I wanna know
I wanna know what you meant

Oh, I agree - I don't think Ozzy was praising Aleister Crowley either. I just thought is was the darkest tune on the album.

Anyway, cool thread and great job by you magic!

    I love this album!

    Thank you, Groovey :)

I enjoy listening to the albums several times in a row, then speaking my mind on what I hear......Although, I usually review albums I like. I should try reviewing something that is not my cup-0-tea......

Well, good luck with that because I could never do that.
