I rarely have this happen to me due to the fact I was a DJ, but this morning I heard a version of Run Rudolph Run which I'd never heard before, by Foghat:

How about: "Old songs that got airplay and were popular at some point during your lifetime which you didn't hear at the time they were popular, but hear for the first time years afterwards." Does that work for you?

Yeah..i missed loads of stuff..and disliked loads ..but now love those songs.
