Re: The Unofficial Oasis Thread

My antipathy for Oasis has nothing to do with any "Beatles" influence. I just find other bands I like more from this style of pop/rock.

Of course I would be less than honest if I didn't add that I do not like either of the Gallagher brothers...:nw:

Don't worry Tattoo'd I won't say anything else in your thread.:grinthumb

its cool man don't worry, i don't get all butt hurt when people have negative comments, and yeah the constant feuding amongst the gallaghers is quite tiresome

so which bands do you prefer in the britpop genre? i bet you're a Blur guy, huh?

I do like Blur TL, but I only have two of their albums. You are close to the mark on the brothers, and I don't believe their blow-ups are always genuine either.:nw: Like they say any press is good press.

No argument there TL, many others have done the same thing, but for some reason the G's just rub me the wrong way more than most. A good friend of mine bought all their albums and tried to get me interested, but failed. I much prefer Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Spock's Beard and Muse to Oasis, but the two Blur albums I own are really good.(Modern Life is Rubbish and Parklife.)

Re: The Unofficial Oasis Thread

I've found myself enjoying "All Around The World" from the "Be Here Now" album quite a bit lately. It's just SOOO long and SOOO repetitive but it's absolutely filled to the brim with everyone Oasis does so I guess that's what makes it good.

(I swear, this has got to be the longest single ever released).
