Re: Nightwish

Nightwish w/ Tarja Turunen , are an awesome band. Some of my metalhead buddies give me a bit of crap for liking them but I don't care. They were a class act. I saw them live @ the House of Blues in Hollywood on their last US tour
ever w/ Tarja. They were nothing short of friggin' amazing, especially Tarja.
She had me mesmerized by her vocal power, beauty and range.

I guess she noticed that I was in awe, just standing there in front of her, because after the show she took aim, and hit me w/ a t-shirt .One of only three she threw out. It was too small ,but still a great sovereign, and an unbelievably great show.

I think I listened to Nightwish at least three times a week for something like a year straight after seeing them live .

Re: Nightwish

What I mean by similar to early Nightwish is:

Symphonic metal with dynamic operatic vocals, with lead solos and classical
influenced keys .

I have heard a couple of bands in your list and they were lacking the metallic aggression and solos that I crave in my symph metal. Others that I have heard lack the operatic vocal delivery, I am trying to find another band besides early Nightwish that have the combination of all the above mentioned elements.

Not trying to be a smart *** or jerk ....just trying to clarify myself and what I am seeking :grinthumb
