Born music lover - Excited to be here!

Grew up listening to my Dad's music so it isn't shocking that classic rock is now in my blood.

Favourite band: Pink Floyd

Guilty Pleasure: The Darkness

Dont know 'The Darkness'....what are they all about?
Most here are Floyd fans.

I'm a fan of classic rock and prog rock...these days mostly listen to prog rock, prog fusion, prog folk,,,but still dip into hard rock if the band is interesting or unusual.
I like Rival Sons in that area....doing retro rock sounds but with a modern feel. Good songwriters.

Ah, you have taste then haha

You have probably heard the Darkness without realising. I guess they could be considered a one-hit wonder but I quite enjoy the full discography. 'I believe in a thing called love' is probably what you've heard. They even have a banging Christmas song (which is probably the second best known track they have)

Cant say I have ever heard that song but it sounds like a hundred other hard rock songs on the radio...though the singer reminds me a bit of Freddie Mercury and Queen.
Never been a fan of much mainstream radio rock other than The Stones and Beatles in the old days.
There are a few here and there I do like over the years but I have always sought out the 'unique' bands even back at college in the early 70's (started college in '69) which is how I ended up into prog rock I guess.
Over the last 50 years I have gotten heavily into obscure prog rock and fusion like a few others here who are old timers too. I also like classic jazz ...Coltrane, Miles Davis, Monk, etc and ''newer players' like Chick Corea and Pat Metheny and many on the ECM label.
