In Kurt's defense, the lyrics for "Teen Spirit" weren't really meant to make sense.

How about every other song he ever wrote? Got a defense for those?

Actually, I believe I do. From what I understand Kurt's method for writings songs (at least for "Nevermind" anyway) was that the music and the melodies would come first and then he's fill in the lyrics later (which is how I usually do things as well). A fair number of Nirvana's songs had meaningful lyrics like "Polly" or "Lithium" but then others?....Well I think he was just stringing together some ambiguous lyrics that sounded good together and people just have been finding their own meanings in them over the years. I think it's the open endedness of some of the songs that lead people to connect with Nirvana's music because they are finding their own ways of connecting with each song.

Or at least that's what I think.

Nevermind.

Me and my friends took a rode trip to Seattle a few days ago, and were blasting Nirvana on our way in. As cliche as it was, it was pretty cool. As much as a lot of Nirvana fans tend to piss me off, I have a lot of respect for Kurt.
