Need help finding a song

Hi, I remember hearing a song in the early 80s on my local (DC) classic rock FM station. I don't remember who the artist was or the name of the song. I remember it had a poignant minor key violin part. As I recall, the song was about a Jesus-like figure (or perhaps Jesus himself) trying to get his message across. I vaguely remember the line "No, no, you don't understand" (or something like that). Does that ring a bell? Would love to find the song. Thanks!
