Hey, I don't really know all the chords, but thanks for the shout out anyway, Mark. I've got this playlist on my iPod that contains about 1,600 rock, prog and heavy psych songs from the late 60's thru the mid 70's. This morning, I braved the heat and humidity and went for a long walk. Here's a list of the songs that my mp3 player randomly chose for me to listen to on my stroll:

1. "Tadpole" by Incredible Hog

2. "Beggars Day" by Nazareth

3. "Butter Queen" by Three Man Army

4. "Why Dontcha" by West, Bruce & Laing

5. "Free" by Spot

6. "The Price" by Atomic Rooster

7. "Mina Fotspar Fylls Av Vatten" by November

8. "Shotgun" by Vanilla Fudge

9. "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin

10. "Emotions of Man" by Indian Summer

11. "Black Magic" by Marcus

12. "Feelin's" by Excalibur

13. "To Greet the Sun" by Horse

14. "Hag Rag" by Hokus Poke

Until next time -

This morning's walk generated more 90 degree heat and 20 songs as compiled back at home in the comfort of sweet AC. Here they are in order as heard by my ears:

1. "Power" by Help

2. "Thousand Days of Yesterdays" by Captain Beyond

3. "Dozy World" by Maypole

4. "Get Down to Your Fate" by Birth Control

5. "Love Fighter" by Crushed Butler

6. "Things Are Changing" by Mariani

7. "Crossrocker" by Iron Claw

8. "Mora" by Bead Game

9. "Sometime World" by Wishbone Ash

10. "Got That Feeling" by Bolder Damn

11. "Down to Earth" by Wildfire

12. "The King Will Come" by Wishbone Ash

13. "In Our Time" by Fuzzy Duck

14. "Highway of Love" by Ticket

15. "Winterground" by Dryewater

16. "Stage Door Queen" by Ursa Major

17. "Smoke" by Poobah

18. "Burn" by Deep Purple (David Coverdale on vocals here, friends)

19. "How Many More Times" by Led Zeppelin

20. "Love Wit Chu Mama" by Jump

It's a funny thing. The Ipod chose two Wishbone Ash songs, and both from the "Argus" album to boot ! That's fine by me. I'd listen to Wishbone Ash all day long, but interesting nonetheless.

Here's today's list, folks :

1. "It's a Brand New Morning" by Freeport

2. "cd" by T2

3. "Suite: Coming On Again Pt.1/For Maryse/Over the Hill/Coming On Again Pt. 2/Believe Me/Here I Am" by Tucky Buzzard

4. "Slipping" by Bead Game

5. "Freedom" by Buffalo

6. "Dear Little Friend" by Wind

7. "Tomorrow Today" by Grannie

8. "Abaseal" by Groundshaker

9. "Tomorrow Is the Last To Be Heard" by Gypsy

10. "Shorty Stokes" by Steeplechase

11. "Rock Me Baby" by Bliss

12. "Mr. Limousine Driver" by Grand Funk Railroad

13. "I Gotta See My Queen Woman" by Strawberry Path

14. "Too Much Wine" by Dirty Tricks

15. "Since You've Been Gone" by Toe Fat

Alright, a thirteen minute medley by Tucky Buzzard was kind of pushing it, friends. No argument there. I could blame it on the Ipod, but the mp3 player's whole stance on the subject matter is, "If you didn't like what I picked for you, then take me off random play mode, you idiot. Sheeesh." Sometime technology's indifference can be downright cold, but you know what - when you're in the middle of a heat wave, maybe anything "cold" isn't really so bad after all. And besides, you know you've reached that "talk to the hand" moment with your Ipod when it tells you to plug it into the wall because it only has 2% battery power left. But seriously, did you find any songs that you liked today ? No ? Well, maybe next time ! Stay cool !

Greetings and salutations ! You know, the weatherman forecast that the heat wouldn't be as oppressive today, but I must beg to differ. Having been out in the thick of it this morning, I do believe that it was worse today than the previous two. I guess it's 4:20 somewhere as they say.

I have 20 songs for you today. 20 !! That boggles my mind, and admittedly, it doesn't take much to boggle my mind. I pretty much walk the same route every morning. I suppose if we crunched the numbers and did the math, we would determine that these particular songs were shorter in length than on previous days. And while we're on school subjects, I was thinking about a friend from English class by the name of John Fitzgerald. The teacher would assign characters and have us read Shakespearean plays aloud in class. Whenever John had a line, he would always read the wrong one. It would be from his character alright, but the dialogue was from ten pages ahead or ten pages behind. Whatever he said never made any sense to the scene. He was in the right church, but the wrong pew. Yes, Virginia, there is a moral to this story, but more on that tomorrow. As Alice Cooper loves to remind us, "School's out for the summer !" (You'll never see that song on any of my daily lists by the way, but more on that tomorrow, too.)

And so, without further ado, here they are:

1. "Snakebite" by Stone Axe

2. "La Sieste" by Frob

3. "Got To Be A Lover" by Chariot

4. "In the Night" by The Power of Zeus

5. "Got To See My Way" by Wizard

6. "Mr. Destroyer" by Poobah

7. "All New People" by Alamo

8. "Warrior" by Thin Lizzy

9. "Starlight" by Sainte Anthony's Fyre

10. "Berkely Lady" by Sweet Pain

11. "Let Loose" by Jukin' Bone

12. "Come Together" by Kin Ping Meh (I'm not big on covers, but this is a mighty fine one of the Beatles' classic !)

13. "Save My Love" by Black Cat Bones

14. "Down the Road" by Amish

15. "Gettin' Together" by Third Power

16. "U.X.I.B." by Warpig

17. "Downer" by Kapt. Kopter himself Randy California

18. "King of Twilight" by Nektar

19. "Harris Street" by Southern Cross

20. "Big Tree Blue Sea" by Golden Earring

I encourage you to check out all these songs and/or artists ! And if you don't have Poobah's "Mr. Destroyer" from their album "Let Me In" on your mp3 player, then go to I-Tunes and buy it like pronto ! It's worth every penny of the ninety-nine cents. Trust me on this.

No taxation without representation ! Don't tread on us ! And in the spirit of freedom, declare your independence from the shackles of FM classic rock radio routine (for at least for one day ?) I mentioned yesterday that you will never see Alice Cooper's "School's Out" in my lists of songs and that's no slight on Alice. You'll never see "Free Bird", "Light My Fire", "Stairway" nor "Won't Get Fooled Again" et al either. I have them, you have them, we all have them and we all love them. Are they among the greatest classic rock songs of all time ? You betcha ! A philosophy teacher once told me that our favorite books are the ones that tell us what we already know, so there you go. But here's the thing; there are a bazillion and one topics and posts already dedicated to them (and rightfully so), but this ain't one of them, friends. If you came here looking for "Layla", well, sorry 'cause she ain't here. You're in the wrong thread.... or I'm in the wrong thread ......... hell, maybe I'm on the wrong message board altogether. Right church, wrong pew, remember ? No, this thread is about "the other stuff" for lack of a better analogy. Maybe you know these songs and artists, and maybe you don't, but I'm here to tell you about them. So let's get to it then. I have 17 for you today -

1. "I'm Coming Home" by Moses

2. "Deep Freeze" by A Foot in Cold Water (and don't both band and song sound comforting on such a hot summer day in early July ?)

3. "The Ballad of Irving Fink" by Buffalo

4. "Freestone" by Freedom

5. "Teacher" by Jethro Tull

6. "Bad Weather" by Marmalade

7. "Fantasy" by Moxy

8. "Free Me" by Les Variations

9. "Highway" by T2

10. "The Giant" by Hurdy Gurdy

11. "Upsetter" by Grand Funk Railroad

12. "Magda" by Les Variations

13. "I Know" by Spot

14. "To the Sea" by Incredible Hog

15. "Lost in the Jungle" by Hurdy Gurdy

16. "Basking in the White of the Midnight Sun (Reprise) by Armageddon

17. "Ship of Ghosts" by Wicked Lady

Hey, my IPod double-dipped us on Les Variations and Hurdy Gurdy, but it's all good ! Have a happy and safe 4th !
