The Metallica version is a 'tribute', as are all the songs on Garage Inc. It's almost note for note/word for word perfect of the Motorhead version. No disrespect to Metallica, but I've got to go with Motorhead. Certainly not because of the quality, but ****! We're talking about MOTORHEAD, man.

I'm definitely a bigger Metallica fan. However, the original by Motorhead is awesome and that gets my vote. I always thought Overkill was a cool word and that's why I have it in my username. I've used the word in usernames on forums for about 6 years now because of this song.
