Is an American heavy metal band.

They originally formed in Seattle, Washington as Shrapnel in 1980.

Their first album was released in 1984

On May 9, 2005, David Wayne died of complications from injuries sustained in a car accident that occurred months before.

He was 47 years old.

I figured this thread would not only be a great tribute to a great classic metal band,

.. but to those fans of David Wayne also!! R. I. P. Metal brother!!

Re: Metal Church

I had their first three albums and all were very good!

Debut: Metal Church

They had a cover of Highway Star (Deep Purple) on this album. Deep
Purple fans may not think much of it, but personally I always enjoyed it
for what it was. A metal band paying tribute to one of the great tracks
by Deep Purple:

Also, the song Gods of Wrath was a cool tune as it was much
different from anything else on the album. More mellow and melodic.

MP covered some of the other good tracks from this album in his
first post, so I won't duplicate his efforts.

Good to see some love for these guys here.

Re: Metal Church

Probably my favorite song by them came off of their second album, The Dark. If I'm not mistaken, this song was also the song that got them a fair amount of radio play and some video play on MTV and other headbanger-related shows.

Re: Metal Church

I have two of their albums...the same ones as Lynch mentioned I think...I'll have to look to be sure. Very under valued band I always thought.
