With the new Fiona Apple album coming out there's more than one feisty, deep voiced, aggressive styled lady with music out this year. Listen, with as long as Fiona takes to release an album I'll definitely take a similarly styled artist in between. Besides this artist has even more of a rock edge and a experimentation with sounds like the indian elements in Monster. I bought the digital EP:

    Daughter In The Choir

and I love every song! Listen, from the second I said Fiona Apple you guys had your minds made up. This chick is a fierce, bold, dark singer in that cannon of music and deserves a listen for fans of that type of music:

    Monster, Adelaide and Curbstomp

From these three so far man I liked Adelaide.

You do have quite the corner on the modern female singer bro!!

:heheh: It does seem to point in that direction but you aren't going in the Melanie direction, are ya? :oyea:

Yeah, it's funny I hadn't even heard of Adelaide before joining here and befriending those Aussies but since then I've heard multiple song titles with it in it!

Just heard those songs you posted Sooty and I really like what I hear. I especially love the cello at the end of Monster, just beautiful. Ohh and she definitely sounds like she can be Fiona's twin (which of course isn't a bad thing) jiji.

I'll be checking the rest of her stuff out :grinthumb

Nice, did you see the recent Curbstomp video! I haven't been into videos in a longtime but that ones insane and she's pretty intriguing to watch IMO. Then again, in Monster there are two things that catch the eye as well! :heheh:

Thanks for sharing this Soot. Listened to Monster and CURBSTOMP and I liked them, Monster especially. Found her quite aggressive at times, very good!
