I've been listening to Mark Knopfler practically all my life and I've just borrowed his new album Privateering from my Dad. Just the thing for a listening to on a laid back Sunday afternoon :grinthumb

I've always been a big fan of Dire Straits, but haven't kept up with Mark's solo career at all....:hm:

But you are right Sunny those are perfect for a laid back afternoon when you are feelin' mellow.

It is wishful thinking, I managed to catch them many years ago at a festival and I saw Mark in Manchester, I buy all his new albums. He is a great guitarist and a nice chap.

Do you know what happened to Mark's brother, David was his name as far as I can remember, who was in the original line up of DS and who left after the first couple of albums ? He seems to have vanished but I do remember he made at least one solo album, which I have got somewhere, where Mark made a guest appearence on a few songs.

My favourite albums of Mark's solo would be Golden Heart 1996 & Sailing To Philadelphia 2000. But his album with Chet Adkins Neck & Neck from 1990 is really good
