I saw Machine Head live twice back in the early 2000s ..actually think that I might have seen them the first time around about 1998 or so. Anyway I'm a huge fan of Burn My Eyes and the The More Things Change .
The Burning Red I wasn't too happy about but after seeing them play live for the second time I was a bit more receptive of some of the material. I still wasn't feeling the nu-metal influences of Supercharger but think that they gradually got back on track w/ Through the Ashes of Empires. The Blackening was a full blown comeback to their early kick ass material and I really like the new one Locust as well.
The only thing that kept me interested in them during the Nu Metal influenced phase was the fact that they were such a great live band that tended to play the older stuff more then the new at that point.
Anyway, throw out a few albums and I really like this band alot.
