Led Zeppelin turns down Download Festival

LED ZEPPELIN TURN DOWN INVITE FOR DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL

Organizers for the U-K’s annual Download festival have approached Led Zeppelin to headline the event but the legendary band turned them down. Event organizer Andy Copping told XFM.co.uk that he had to try since having AC/DC and Zep on the same line-up would constitute his dream bill, but Zep’s management told him that “it’s not what they want to do at the moment.” AC/DC, Motorhead, Them Crooked Vultures, Aerosmith and many others are still set to play the festival June 11th to the 13th in England.

I think I'll be 100 years old when Zeppelin decides it's time to play a concert together..:

Ditto here. I saw Page & Plant as well. Closest to seeing Zep was mailing in the newspaper coupon for tickets for the Chicago shows in September of 1980 then the next day, Bonzo drank too much and died.: Oh well, I still have the clipped page from the Chicago Tribune in my rock memorabilia collection.

The O2 concert was supposed to be one of a handful of shows that were to be put on according to Page but Plant was the decider in that one, mostly due to his projects with Allison Krauss. Page, Jason and JPJ are all for it. Plant is also usually the one on the fence with regard to Zep in the 21st century.
