Saw a movie last night with Marky Mark that didn't suck. I was shocked.

Broken City or something like that.

Might very well be the 3rd best Marvel Film to date (the other two being Avengers and the first Iron Man). Packed full of action, this movie has a lot of what the first movie really lacked in. I liked the first film but it was slow moving as it was full of character development and a bit of lore. It also was the setup film for Thor and The Avengers.

This movie doesn't disappoint if you are looking for the first great popcorn flick of the year. I can count on one hand the number of 3D movies I've seen in the past few years. They seem to be everywhere and any 'blockbuster' flick is always coming out in 3D. I avoid them like the plague for various reasons. This time, I decided that i was going to do it right. I went to the 3D showing at the local IMAX theater and holy shit, it was awesome! I would suggest to anyone that hasn't seen this movie yet to see it in that very format if at all possible! IMAX 3D =

    10 out of 10 stars.

Good film, good performances by most of the cast, good SFX and sound. But I have to say that there were a number of points in the movie that made me say "WTF was that?!" :wtf:

I understand that they are trying to take 2 chapters of the Bible and make it into a 2.5 hour movie, which they did, but obviously you have to embelish a number of things to get a viable script to fill that much screen time. Taking all of that into account, it was still a Hollywood movie and for that it was pretty good.

    8.5 out of 10 stars.

Watched two great ones on Netflix today.

Gods & Monsters. Wow, what a film. Ian McKellen is quite possibly my favorite actor and he nailed yet another role in this poignant story of a man at the end of his life. Possibly the best biographical film I've seen.

Violet & Daisy. Alexis Bledel AND James Gandolfini? How did this one slip under my radar?? Great little crime romp, both fun and touching. Has to be Alexis Bledel's best movie with the possible exception of Tuck Everlasting. Best one from Gandolfini that I've seen as well. 'Course neither of them will ever surpass their respective TV roles.

p.s. Great pick, Jet! Doubtfire remains a personal favorite of mine, one of those films like The Breakfast Club and Jumanji were I pretty much have to watch it no matter how many times they play it on TV!
