Alex by a mile. Lars is not a great drummer and if the last few albums are anything to go by, he's getting worse - or just lazy.
Alex is very under-rated. He has his own sound, which is very hard for a drummer to do
He pretty much is getting lazy, admitted himself he doesn't practice as much before shows. It explains why he butchers so many classic songs of theirs.
Yes, you can do a lot with overdubbing. Alex, but I don't really care for either drummer. Both have had their moments and I think they are near equal talent wise but Alex is far more creative and...well, maybe that's it.
