Nearing the end of this Summer’s tour having opened for the Doobie Bros., next on the horizon for Lara Johnston is the release of her new 12 song album later this year. In the meantime by popular demand from her fans that can’t stand the wait, she’s giving away a free MP3 of one of the new tracks “The Party’s Over” on her website.

Lara is clearly on the rise with her powerful voice and fiery, captivating stage presence. Touring tirelessly, Lara Johnston has performed with Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller, Neil Patrick Harris, E.G. Daily, Sam Harri, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Willie Nelson, KISS, Tower of Power, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Huey Lewis, Pablo Cruise, Journey and Cheap Trick. Not many 21 year olds can attract the attention of some of the most powerful names in music as Lara has.

What makes her so captivating, aside from her beauty, is her powerful voice and great songwriting. Lara writes her own songs (sometimes collaborating with her favorite writers from Nashville to Los Angeles). Her music is an inspiring mix of Rock, Vocal Pop, R&B and Soul.

She's beautiful as well Fever, must have gotten her looks from her mother.:D

It's nice to see her carry on in her Dad's footsteps, and to hell with Idol anyway I hope she succeeds on her own...well I have no doubt Dad will always be there if she needs him.

I didn't know this was Tom Johnston's daughter until I read her bio. No wonder she has toured with the Doobie Brothers :grinthumb

I went to her myspace page to hear some of her songs......

she has a pretty voice, but I don't care too much for the bubblegum stuff she sings.

And that in a nutshell sums up how I feel about 90% of the pop singers out there, some have talent that is undeniable, but the pablum they choose to sing...well that ends my interest instantly.

Still I think it's kind of neat that Tom's daughter has got a career of her own now...makes me feel old too. :heheh:

Still I listened to the Doobies since I was a kid, and now Tom's kid is in her twenties making her own way in the music business.

It's like watching NFL football, I've been doing it for so long guys kids are playing now that I watched in the early 70's, when their grandchildren are playing then I'll feel Ancient...:lmao:
