A release date for the long awaited follow-up solo album to 1990's Armchair Theatre must be close because when I see Richard Tandy with Jeff Lynne it is shades of 2000-2001 when Flashback and ZOOM both came out, but they only actually ask him about UFOs, Charlie Sheen and Phil Collins quitting music, LOL, also here are JL's girlfriend Camelia Kath, Richard's wife Sheila, Phil Hatton and JL's manager Craig Fruin!

Unfortunately all this delay has curbed my enthusiasm. The first rumors that his album would be released in June were in 2009. Now, whatever will be will be. Sorry Jeff.

I look forward to the album. But only to a certain degree, What I am
really hoping, is once he finishes promoting the solo album, he goes
back to G. Harrisons archives and finishes Brainwashed part two, which
OLivia Harrison had mentioned about a year ago.

The guy doesn't seem that motivated to finish. I mean how long can it really take?
Doing most of it yourself, the playing, composing singing, I can see sporadic sessions
off and on, taking 2-3 years, perhaps. Anything more than that, and it begins to sound
like a line from the publicist to keep the name out there.

Considering the fact that Lynne did the vast majority of the work in many of the ELO albums in the 70's and into the 80's, it's not as if he's not used to doing everything. I'm guessing it's a project that isn't very high on the "To Do" list and something he just futzes with a bit here and there.

Then like you said, the publicist has to keep mentioning it to keep his name out there.
