Re: Jeff Healey Band ~ See the Light (1988)

I will NEVER forget the first time I saw Jeff on the Arsenio Hall show back in the late 80's. I didn't know much about him at the time, but I became an instant fan when I saw him play.

watching him sit there on his chair, playing the guitar on his lap, and with his fret hand on top of the fretboard, etc. I was just blown away. First that he could play that way, but secondly because he ****ing ROCKED!!! on the solo, he stood up and was playing with the guitar facing out towards the audience, then he picked it up and started picking with his teeth. It was just sooooo cool.

On that day I became an instant fan. Very little of his work I have not enjoyed. I love that album he did that was all cover tracks, called Cover to Cover:

6. Evil
7. Stuck in the Middle with You
8. Angel
9. Moon Is Full
10. Yer Blues
11. Communication Breakdown
12. Me and My Crazy Self

:grinthumb Hell of a musician. RIP Jeff :wa:

WOOT! I found it:

Jeff Healey - Confidence Man (live on Arsenio Hall) / Angel Eyes as well in the second half of the video.

The first minute or so is just junk that was poorly NOT editted out, but once you get to the 1-minute mark, you are in for a treat.

Another really cool video from around the same time period (89 or 90) with Jeff Healey and the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I could listen to these two jam for hours. RIP both of them!

That is a poignant video Lynch, makes me melancholy realizing two such gifted artists are both gone.:(

Yeah, I get a little choked up seeing video of either one of these guys in concert footage. such great musicians, seemingly taken from us way too soon.

Gone, but certainly not forgotten.
