I am having troubles here at CRF. I have notified Shaggy, our owner, about these problems.

Here is what I am experiencing:

1. New ads on the forum.
2. search windows, with ads popping up when I hover my mouse.
3. Pages loading extremely slow.
4. Inability to post without refreshing my page.
5. Losing my pages, and having IE recover them.

I have notified the owner.

If any of you are having troubles, please post in this thread what you are experiencing.

Been quite a few anomalies the last few weeks, and this morning I got kicked out trying to open a PM and had to load the forum again...doesn't matter if I'm using FF or Chrome either, can't speak to IE seeing I don't use it at all.

Hopefully Shaggy shows up sooner rather than later and sorts this out.

I agree, works fine for me, all ads are blocked so I don't know about those ad related problems but the board works fine for me.

I had a couple of instances of losing pages of new posts last week, but I think that was my fault, for extended inactivity.

I don't have any pop up ads or anything like that.

So you guys think I may have some spyware or malware.

Just to be on the safe side, I went to the microsoft site and downloaded their Safety Scanner and ran it. (I do use IE, which is a microsoft product).

Believe it or not, it did find 7 infected files and removed them. My 2012 Nortons must be a piece of junk. :heheh:

The forum seems to be running better now. I haven't seen any ads popping up.

I gotta stay away from all that porn ;)

:oyea:

(I'm just kidding)

Just a word of caution regarding those pesky pop-up ads. I was surfing Grooveshark a couple of weeks ago and a full page ad popped up that had a "remove ad" button. Of course I immediately clicked on the remove button and the @$$#*!~ tried to write a Trojan virus to my machine. That hasn't happened on CRF that I know of, but just saying beware of pop-up ads.

I visited Grooveshark 2 days ago....

Wonder if that is where I picked up the infected files.

anyway, my PC is running a whole lot better since I ran the Security Scanner from Microsoft. (actually it is still scanning my PC and has found 7 infected files now........all files that Norton's has missed)

:wtf::wtf:

Just to change my avatar a little while ago, it took almost 5 minutes to actually change. The site has definitely been extremely difficult for me to navigate through for the past few days. So much so that I have pretty much avoided it. Clicking "quote", preview posts, submitting posts, UserCP, trying to post a message on someone else's profile, etc etc etc. :banghead:

It's been painful.
