Re: Iron Maiden

True enough Taha, but sometimes I just want to sit back close my eyes and just go wherever the music takes me. Other times like you I enjoy the visual spectacle as well.

Clive Burr...original drummer. Sad to say he has been diagnosed with MS. Iron Maiden has done many charity concerts for Clive Burr's MS fund and he is in a wheelchair.

This was not the reason he left in 82 however. That was family issues.

Re: Iron Maiden

Nice to see some fans of this band. I am not a "Metalhead", per se, but I do have an extensive collection of old and new bands. But not the Black/Death/Doom/Porn/Grindcore/Crustcore/Metalcore/Folkcore varieties as a rule. Only a couple of bands from that whole smorgasbord of sub-genres in the library.

Here's the First Maiden album, I don't listen to it very often, but I had to have it I enjoy following a band from the very beginning if I really like them. Sometimes as they go forward I will skip an album or two depending if they are just lacking the spark or below the expectations I have.

Prowler.

Released in 1980, and here's Eddie.:grinthumb

I still remember the trhill I had when I first saw this album. I was always hanging around the record shop of my friend who used to get all the new albums directly from his brother in NYC. One day he got a huge parcel full of records from the USA out of his car and the first one on top was "Iron Maiden". I instantly knew that the record would send a chill up my spine......and it did!!!!! :):):)

Re: Iron Maiden

One of the first bands I was totally "religious" about. Always remember going and buying their back catalogue whenever i had enough pocket money!

The number of the beast album is an absolute monster. Most of the rest of their 80's output is too to be fair.

Re: Iron Maiden

^^I tend to agree with you T Dude about their 80's output, and many of my contemporaries are in the same boat as you, they just loved Maiden to death.
