Brandon Boyd, fronter for Incubus, will hit the road next year with his side act, Sons of the Sea. The eight date trek begins January 27 at Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club and wraps February 15 at San Francisco's Fillmore.
Speaking with USA Today, Boyd noted that the solo effort may appeal to those who are not fans of Incubus:
"Probably the most striking difference between Sons of the Sea and Incubus is that Sons of the Sea is more accessible, I guess you could say? It's not as much heavy or alternative rock like Incubus, it's a lot more song-based."
Sons of the Sea tour dates (with more to be announced soon):
Jan. 27 - Washington, D.C., 9:30 Club
Jan. 29 - Philadelphia, Pa., Theatre Of The Living Arts
Jan. 30 - New York, N.Y., Irving Plaza Powered By Klipsch
Jan. 31 - Boston, Mass., Paradise Rock Club
Feb. 11 - San Diego, Calif., House Of Blues
Feb. 12 - Pomona, Calif., Glass House
Feb. 13 - Los Angeles, Calif., The Belasco Theater
I bought my first Incubus cd because one day, I listened a song, I don't remember which, and it reminded me to Rush for his bass sound. When I got home i listened the cd and i thought "****, this is a crap!!!" After te shock i listened the cd another time with more objectivity and ok, is a good band, they remind me to the Red hot chili peppers + Faith no more.
Isn't my favorite style, but they have good songs.
I have "morning view" and "A crow left of the murder..."
