Another Norwegian Black Metal band who do what they do extremely well. I have only heard At The Heart of Winter and currently own All Shall Fall. Both are just brilliant albums from start to finish. Another band who deserved a thread in this section.

Immortal is a band I was glad to finally get into. Black Metal was really something I found harder to follow than Death Metal.

[Stiff n Cold]

Picked up my first Immortal release yesterday - opted for " At The Heart Of Winter" over "Pure Holocaust" and definetly think I went for the better of those two. I am only on the 4th listen so far and there is a lot to take in - however it's riff-****ing-tastic and played with blinding pace at times and is impressive from start to finish.

There's some great time changes on that record too, managed to spend a few hours with it over the last day and it's actually shaping up to be one of my best purchases of the year. Had a quick flick through some other albums and downloaded "Battles In The North" earlier. Alot more raw and harsh in sound (production is considered ropey to some but to me it just emphasises the true BM sound) and very frantic on the guitar front but still thoroughly entertaining.
