This thread needs some love. Great, great band. I find all their later material (from ATHOW on) to be superior to the earlier, more frenetic & fuzzy albums.

I have only heard At The Heart of Winter and currently own All Shall Fall.

Abbath is hilarious. Love how the riff in Tyrants off At The Heart Of Winter was inspired by Led Zeppelin's Kashmir.

Notorious for their unintentionally hilarious music videos

I lost touch with my dear Immortal for awhile and then listened to their latest album "All Shall Fall" from 2009 (Totally late on getting it) and fell back into arousal entrousal. With many years of inactivity and no new album in sight I think all of us fans had nothing but high expectations for what was to come and they did not disappoint with their much anticipated last. You can just taste the Norway from the atmospheric morbidity conveyed in their songs. That's powerful and cannot easily be done and truly internalized by and for listeners. The rawness that came to define Immortal has somewhat softened up over the lengthy break but I consider that to be refreshing.

They've progressed musically without losing their edge and somber harmony.​

I hope they put out new material soon.

I wouldn't hold my breath on it but I know it isn't the end of Immortal and there will be much more amazing material to be released in time and patience.

Now have all their albums and was glad to have got them from Ebay because the prices in retail shops are ridiculous. I got most of them on Ebay for 20-25 bucks whereas a retail store has them for nearly 50 bucks an album. I still love Sons of Northern Darkness the most but At The Heart of Winter is close behind it.
